For the Trans Ignorant

I started to write this on Facebook, but it was late at the time and I was tired so, instead, I put it off for another time.  In the interim, I decided that it would be a good post for this blog.     I don't know about all of my trans brothers and sisters (although, I'm sure I can make a good guess), but I am so tired of seeing and hearing all the anti-trans propaganda on social media and elsewhere.  I'm sure this blog post won't make it onto enough of the computer or phone screens of supposed Right wing intellectuals to do any good, but at least I'll have had my say.  Who knows?  Maybe it will eventually make it onto the screens of some of the Right wing talking heads with their vlogs, blogs, podcasts and radio shows, and they'll learn something they had no idea about before.  For the most part, I think they'd be more likely glance at it, scoff, and pass it off without giving the courtesy of reading it.  Most of these people ...

Navigating Post-Vaginoplasty Dilation: A Crucial Part of Recovery

I would like to preface this post by saying that I knew very little of this before yesterday afternoon.  Of course, I knew what vaginoplasty is, and I knew dilation would be involved afterward.  Beyond that I had no idea; it all seemed so daunting.  So, I decided to give it a little research with the help of AI.  Even after getting some answers, I'm daunted.  There's just so much involved!  First thing to consider is, of course, the cost.  I've written in the past about the many sources of financial assistance available for this sort of thing, but if I'm unable to acquire any of this aid, I'll have no choice but to forego the operation.     Then, there's the amount of pain I'll have to deal with all while sticking rods of increasingly larger sizes up my constructed cunny.  I'm no stranger to pain.  I've lived with varying degrees of it my entire life.  But I've never volunteered for the kind of pain I'll have to e...

My Latest Revelation

Recently, I was thinking about how much I've changed over the past year and, as I have  several times before, I became concerned over my apparent lack of interest in sex.  Why this is so alarming is because I've been a sex addict for as long as I can remember.  The fact that sex is no longer important to me is like the difference between night and day.  And I don't really believe that it's not important; it's just... I DON'T KNOW!     I think that what was going on with me in the past was that my subconscious was throwing tantrums, trying to bring attention to the turmoil within me.  And, yes... it is turmoil!  To be born with one type of body, yet possess a gender usually associated with a different body type is absolutely maddening... especially if you don't realize that you're transgender!  But, ever since starting my transition journey, I rarely have a sexual thought.  When I do, it's just a fleeting thought.  Like...

Fighting for Non-discrimination Protections for Trans Individuals

In a world striving towards inclusivity and equity, the rights of trans individuals continue to be a focal point of advocacy and legislative efforts. Despite significant progress, trans individuals still face pervasive discrimination in many aspects of daily life. It is imperative that we reinforce and expand non-discrimination protections in key areas such as employment, housing, education, and healthcare. These protections are not just a matter of legal compliance; they are essential for ensuring the dignity, safety, and well-being of trans individuals. Employment      Employment is a fundamental aspect of human dignity and self-sufficiency. For trans individuals, navigating the workplace can be fraught with challenges ranging from subtle bias to overt discrimination. Research has shown that trans individuals are often subjected to higher rates of unemployment, underemployment, and workplace harassment. Non-discrimination protections in employment ar...

Honoring LGBTQ+ Trailblazers in American History

As we continue to advocate for the rights and visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals, it’s essential to recognize the trailblazers who paved the way for the progress we see today. Their accomplishments, as well as the trials they faced, highlight the resilience and determination of our community. Here, we honor some of the most influential LGBTQ+ figures in American history. #### Bayard Rustin: The Architect of the Civil Rights Movement      Bayard Rustin, a close advisor to Martin Luther King Jr., was a master strategist and organizer. He played a pivotal role in planning the 1963 March on Washington, one of the largest and most impactful civil rights rallies in U.S. history. Despite his significant contributions, Rustin faced discrimination both for his race and sexual orientation. His open homosexuality led to tensions within the movement, yet he remained steadfast in his commitment to justice and equality. #### Harvey Milk: A Beacon of Hope and Progress  ...
