Be Openly Controversial

This morning, when I got up, I remembered that I needed to go pay the utilities today.  It didn't matter.  I wanted to wear something pink and girly.  I put on a pair of pink jogging shorts and a pink tennis top.  I felt good, and I think I looked good.     When I went to pay the bill, I took my purse since my shorts had no pockets.  I pulled into the parking lot and I was the only one there.  I got out of my pickup and started for the door.  I didn't even make it half-way to the door before two more cars pulled in.  I briefly thought about going back to my truck, but told myself it'd be alright and went inside.  Once inside, I found the young lady at the counter busy with a phone call.  As I waited, the other two drivers came in.  One was a male neighbor of mine whom I have never had an issue with.  The other was an older man who walks with a cane, and had a hard time getting around.  I wasn...

A Woman In Love

The other day, my wife, Gina, came to me and said, "you're called a transbian.  But, what's the word for a cisgender woman attracted to one particular trans woman?"  I seriously searched for a word for that.  Not so much to solve her problem, but to satisfy my own curiosity.  It turns out there isn't a word for that exact situation, but the closest I could come was "transamorous" .  The word   actually means a cis person who's attracted to trans people, but could be stretched to mean a cis person who's attracted to one particular trans person.     As I said, it's a stretch.  But, the main thing here (at least, in my mind) is that the woman I'm married to... the woman I've spent the last 38 years with still chooses to be with me.  Why?  I've heard from other trans women whose wives have left them.  Some of them have even lost contact with their children for having dared to be themselves.  So, why did my ...

Of the Highest Order

Recently, I have received compliments from a couple of different sources that warmed my heart so very much.  Two of those compliments came from my friend, Andrea.  Now, Andrea lives in Georgia and she and I have never personally met, but I think that if we ever did, we would get along very well.  Not because we agree on everything, because we don't.  But, we do share an ideal that used to be common in America, before we let the politicians and media personalities divide us.  That ideal is to treat others with love, respect and dignity.  In current day America, you hear people talk about love for one another but upon close examination, those talking the talk almost never walk the actual walk.     The division is often laid at the feet of our nation's capitol.  While I agree that much of the division comes from there, I hold our nation's churches equally to blame.  I'll just bet that Andrea, even though she's an ...

Crickets, Chaos, and a Quiet Revolution

Some days begin with exhaustion and end with revelation.  Yesterday was one of those days - a mix of sleep deprivation, bureaucratic nonsense, unexpected intimacy, and a quiet moment of trans joy in an aisle at Petco. 2 A.M. and Wide Awake      I woke up after only two and a half hours of sleep.  I made a quick trip to the restroom.  Back to bed, then... NOTHING!   Just me... lying there in the dark, waiting to go back to sleep.  Tossing... turning...  After about an hour and a half, my wife, Gina, got up to go to the restroom.  I turned over to face her side of the bed so I could snuggle her when she returned.  But, when she came back she told me, "roll over".  Excitedly, I did as she said, realizing that she was wanting to snuggle me.  I love to snuggle my wife, but I love it even more when she snuggles me.  It makes me feel loved, safe and secure.  What girl doesn't love that?  She sn...

Rhetorically Right

There's a problem on the political Right that I've seen building for several years now.  You, on the Left, hold on.  I saw it on your side decades ago, which is why I'll never vote Democrat (or farther Left).  Both sides, Left and Right... both parties, Democrat and Republican... are undermining the Constitution of the United States of America.  If you care at all about your freedoms, your rights and your liberties, you'll abandon those parties immediately!     But, this blog is about trans issues, not politics.  Right?  Well... the problem here is that the GOP and their voter base have made every issue that trans folks face a political football.  As I write this, President Trump is holding America hostage with his "Big Beautiful Bill" fiasco, all so that he can strip the trans community of our basic constitutional rights.  Then he tops it off saying it's the Democrats fault.  The hell of it is... IT KIND OF IS!...

On the Inside

Everybody has that inner person.  Some people acknowledge their inner person... in secret, or openly.  Others deny theirs in shame and denial.  Many have talked about someone else's inner person:  "He's a scared little boy on the inside."  "Inside, she's a brave young woman, waiting for her time to shine."  But, what do we really know about another person's inner-self (soul)  when most of us don't even know our own inner-self.  We're only still learning that a person's soul may not resemble what the world sees.  In fact, I believe we all know someone with a beautiful soul who may not be so pleasant to look upon.  But, their soul is so beautiful, so inspiring, that we tend to overlook their physical appearance.  On the opposite side of that coin, we have all at least seen someone who was beautiful to look at, mismatched with a hideously ugly soul.     Why, then, do we struggle to recognize that someone whose p...
