Sex and Gender: The Real Confusion

The sexes:  Ideally, there are only two of them - male and female.  However, occasionally an individual is born who has the sex organs for both.  What are they?  I mean, they're neither and, yet, both, male and female.  Christians are often fond of saying that if something isn't mentioned in the Bible, it isn't real.  Or it's the work of Satan.  But I'm not dealing with their theories right now.

I believe that nature is full of accidental events, and that a third sex could exist and supposedly has existed for a while... but in VERY small numbers.  While this may be a rare occurrence, it, nevertheless, happens.  Excuse me if I have my doubts about it being an act of Satanic sabotage, which, then, says that this is an occurrence of nature.  This gives us a potential third sex.  The thing is, though, the sexes are a circumstance of nature, and nature should NOT be tampered with.

Gender, on the other hand, isn't the same thing.  I know that so many people believe that sex and gender are the same thing, but they really are not!  I recall when I took a year of French in high school, I learned that genders played an important role in learning the language.  I believe this is true in any language.  When talking about a door, you would say "la port", or the door.  "La" being the feminine rendering of "the".  But, if you were to talk about a table, you would say le table (tah-bluh).  Le being the masculine rendering of "the".  When I heard this, I thought, "tables and doors have sexes?"  Well, of course they don't have sexes!  They have genders, though, and that's NOT THE SAME THING!  They're not male and female, they're masculine and feminine.

People on the political Right scoff at the idea of gender being a societal construct, but it actually is just that. We're taught from an early age how we should conduct ourselves based on our sex... "boys behave this way, and girls behave that way."  In a perfect world, that MIGHT be the case.  But, this is not a perfect world, is it?  Of course it's not!  There is no such thing as perfection in a natural world.  If there was, I'm not sure it's a world I'd want to live in.  Meanwhile, folks on the Left are trying to tell us that there's more than ten-dozen genders, which, I'll agree with those on the Right, is ridiculous.  At absolute most, there would be four.  Yes, four... not two.

"Hold on, Ron... dammit!  How the hell are there four?  There's always been just the two."  No... there's always been the four, but the dominant numbers have always gotten their way, and they claimed only two.  But, these days, more and more minorities are being recognized.  Among these minorities are the true trans people.  I'm talking about people like myself.  People of one sex who actually have traits and characteristics (gender) more commonly associated with the opposite sex.  And IF we were to make allowances for these two genders, they would be transfeminine (feminine male) and transmasculine (masculine female).  But, of course we're not going to make allowances, are we?  Of course not, because bigotry reigns supreme in the human race.

Now, the LGBTQ+ community did bring some of this on ourselves.  Or, rather, I should say, we allowed a radical element to come among us and push an agenda, in our name, that the majority of our community disagrees with.  I'm talking about the transitioning of minors.  Children should be allowed to explore their feelings, yes, but they should not be allowed to make decisions that could drastically impact their futures.  What they want today may not be at all what they want ten years from now.  That big of a decision... that important of a decision should not be made by anybody but themselves, and not until they've reached full maturity.  There are multiple stories of people who were allowed to transition as minors who now wish they hadn't been allowed to.  They now want to live the lives they would've had if left well enough alone.  Too bad, so sad!  They can't have that now because the adults in their lives failed them!  I'm well in favor of any legislation that serves to deny gender affirming care to minors.  But, I believe that any adult who wants to take that step should have that opportunity open to them.  If elected to another term in office, Donald Trump wants to ban gender affirming care for EVERYONE!  What about the freedom for every adult American to make that choice for themselves?
