My Decision
As you may know, I've been struggling with the question, "should I go through with my transition, or not". Personally, I don't think it's either immoral or mentally ill, and I have great disdain for those who do. Yes, there are some disturbed people transitioning from one to the other gender. But something I've noticed is that there's also very disturbed people involved in every major religion in the world, as well... including Christianity.
A while back, a nutjob (I don't give a damn how politically incorrect that might be) who lived in the same area that I do left to travel half-way across the country because, he said, God spoke to him through scripture, telling him he needed to go to Washington, D.C. to kill the president of the United States. Hmm... God told him to go out and commit murder, after specifically telling EVERYONE not to do that? That doesn't sound right.
Do you get my point? Just because someone stands for something you're against, that doesn't make them bad; no more than someone standing for what you stand for makes them good. Yes, I believe in God, and yes, I believe in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. But, I don't believe that has anything, at all, to do with my decision to live out the remainder of my life in feminine fashion. I feel feminine, why shouldn't I look feminine, if that's what I choose?
Ms. Chrissy, with transgender.org, read one of my posts a while back and commented that I seem angry. Yes, I am angry! I'm angry that as a grown and aged American adult, I should have to justify myself to ignorant bigots who think that they should be allowed to hold me back from the life I want to live. Meanwhile, they insist on the freedom to live any damned way they please. Not only are these people ignorant bigots, they are also liars, frauds and hypocrites. Do they ever have to justify themselves? I'm sure they don't believe they should have to, but, if people are always talking shit about them, shouldn't they have to, just as I feel the need to do? Why should it be any different for someone like me? We of the trans community have been and are being marginalized because we're different. Before us, it was homosexuals. Before them, Blacks. Majorities have always marginalized minorities. Marginalization is historically hate-based. Should it not, then, be considered to be a hate crime?
I know "the majority rules" has often been the outcry in democracy. But, contrary to popular belief, we do not live in a democracy. We live in a constitutional republic. That's actually a big difference. In a constitutional republic, you have rule of law and due process. Democracy is little more than mob rule... aka, the majority rules. At this point, the majority is ruling against us and we need to find a way to make the law work in our favor. Any ideas?
As for my decision concerning whether or not to continue transitioning; I have chosen to continue. My breasts have started to grow, and I love that! I'm anxious for more! Of course, I hope that the reader would support my decision, but whether or not you do, I am moving forward with the plan.
