Some Truth About Gun Violence Claims

     A lot of smoke has been blown around in recent months concerning transgender people and their fabled propensity for violence.  Speaking (or, rather, writing) experientially, any transgender person who is on HRT and commits an egregious act of violence is rare due to the fact that the hormones give us a more balanced sense of self.  The result is that we're generally more peaceful and easygoing.  But, the numbers from the Gun Violence Archive, the Center for Disease Control, and the Bureau of Justice give a true telling of who perpetrates the largest number of incidents.

    White men make up 31% of the population of the United States; 51% of all mass shootings from 1966 to present can be attributed to White men.  Black men, in the same time frame, are roughly 6.5% of the population and gave us 21% of the total of mass shootings.  Latino men, approximately 9.5% of the population, are responsible for 9% of mass shootings in the period of time given.  Asian men, 3% of the population, more or less, gifted us with 7% of mass shootings.  Now, if you add up the percentages of the shooting events it comes to 88%; leaving us with 12%.

    Did your brain automatically attribute that 12% to the trans community?  If so, tell it that it's stupid, therefore wrong.  Women also committed mass shootings.  Across the race spectrum, women accounted for nearly 12%... NEARLY.  In the past 15 years, only 0.27% of incidents involved a transgender person.  Not so credible sources would have you believe it's jumped way up even more recent than that.  Okay... from 2018 to present, less than 1/10 of a percent of these events were involving someone who identifies as transgender, or non-binary.  These percentages come from credible sources, named previously.  But, politicians such as President Trump, political activists and pundits like Laura Loomer, Matt Walsh and Candace Owens would have you believe that transgender people are extremely dangerous.

    In my point of view and experience, it's more dangerous to listen to people and give them the benefit of the doubt.  If you're not getting your information from credible sources, but instead listen to some talking head with his/her head up their ass, you'll just repeat the same crap that they're spreading.  Unless you live on a farm, don't be spreading shit around.  The numbers are the facts.  For years, Right wing voters have been saying that "Lefties" ignore facts.  But, when it comes to the transgender issue, Right wingers ignore every fact that exists.

    Here are some facts to mull over:  Gender variant persons have existed for thousands of years.  The only reason you're perceiving an uptick in our numbers recently is because we're growing more and more tired of being silent and invisible for your comfort.  Get used to us; we're here to stay!  We're human; if you continue to dehumanize us, you'll effectively be the bully in the schoolyard.  Bullying causes anguish and it's anguish that pushes psychologically prone people over the edge.  That's when they do things like commit suicide, or commit heinous crimes.

    The best thing to do for society at large is shut the fuck up, sit your ass down, and get the hell over yourself!  Transgender individuals are human.  We have rights, like those mentioned in the Declaration of Independence:  The right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  You're infringing on those rights.  And you say we're criminal?

The Perfect Storm
